Pub Life
'Spot colour'. -leaving one part of the image in colour and making the rest monochrome. Much ridiculed by the Photographic Cognescenti , but people still ask for it. Actually I believe that there is a time and a place for it to be done, just don’t over do it and do it well. You can see an example in the first dance part of my wedding portfolio.
The example that you see here is a good example. It must be, as it won me an Olympus camera in the Pub Life photographic competition and was exhibited in The Old Truman Brewery Gallery in the Brick Lane area of London. It shows my brother and brother-in-law enjoying a pint in the Fullers Blackbird pub in London. One of the reasons it won is that it shows people over 30 having a good time and apparently drinking sensibly, sending all the right messages that the Pub industry want convey.
